That is why I have decided to compile a list of SEO tips that can be used by the less experienced webmaster to help them to get their website search engine optimized.

The main thing to remember is to keep on researching your SEO tips and learning how to adapt and implement them to help your website get ranked highly.

These top SEO tips will be perfectly suited to both beginner and advanced webmasters.

Use Keywords

Use keywords throughout the page content. Better yet use the keywords in the links to the page instead of “click here”. Keywords should be used as the anchor text. If the target page is about SEO and the link to the page is “Click Here”, there is no relevancy.

Finding The Right Keywords

Keyword searching is the most important aspect of search engine optimization. You will need to find keywords that are relevant to your website, that people are searching for.

Do not choose keywords that you think are popular just because they are getting a lot of search volumes. Back-links are built through directory submissions, article marketing, blog comments, forum signature links, and bookmarking.

The moment you find the right keywords, you must investigate the keywords you want to use. You can use free tools like the Google AdWords Keyword Tool and Wordtracker to help you to get the most popular keywords to use.

Title Tags

This is the tag that is used to tell the search engine what your webpage is about. A title tag should be no more than!.5 in length.

The title tag should contain the keyword you want to optimize the page for. Only once should be used. Do not duplicate the title tag across multiple pages across different websites.

Meta Tags

Contained in the head of the web page. The two most important meta tags are the description and keyword tags.

The description tag should read naturally, not overstuffed with keywords. Make sure that it reads well similar to the way of a natural conversation.

Do not fill the description with spamming keywords. Not only will this not help your site rank, but the search engines will also ban sites that try this trick.

Website Content

Your website content should be updated regularly with fresh, unique content. Search Engines like for new content and will spider them more frequently. Content should be written for people, not search engines. If you copy the content of an article and paste it into your website, it will not be indexed. Search engines index the whole page, not just the headings.

Keyword Stuffing

Keyword stuffing is the act of placing targeted words or phrases within the content of a page.

Sometimes, you will find that low or dedicated keywords are used so that the web crawler will not index the page. Thereby, your site will not get indexed.

In my opinion, the best course of action is to use a Keyword Tool and type in words and phrases you think visitors will be searching for. Then check the popularity of each term to get a better idea of how often it is searched. Then adjust your keyword density accordingly.

Header Tags

The header is a larger bold font that runs along the top of a page. There is a character limit for the headers, but more than that doesn’t hurt. Use the largest font size and bold the words to help with the ranking.

Alt Tags

The alt tags with images should be named with hyphens and should contain the keywords. Several sites have free software that will help you with this.

Use Sub-Headings

If you have well-written content, you should use sub-headings that will break up the information to make it easier to read.

Headers should use h1 tags. Headers should use h1 tags to break up the content from the top to the bottom of the page. Also, the header should be original content. Search engines will be looking for this, and it will not be rewritten.
